“ Located deep within the village of Shutlanger you will find an absolute banger! Jess making sure everyone is feeling fine, “may I pour you some more Wine” and Tommy being a fantastic host! With Jim and his team of chefs cooking up your roast, no doubt you will agree this pub is better than most. From top to bottom the Plough has it all from puddings to roast dinners, giant burgers, let’s not forgot Jims famous Ale pie. If this pub was built in the North east the punters would simply say “Whey Aye” ”

“ We have been meaning to check this place out for a couple of years now and finally got round to it on my birthday this year. We were not disappointed. The service was fantastic. The staff are very attentive. This is a small intimate setting. Very beautifully laid out. Attention to detail is spot on. The food was delicious. My husband and I had no complaints at all. Our son thought his burger was a little dry and could do with being asked how he would have liked it cooked. The taste was nice just needed a little less cooking time . All the rest of his dinner was perfect. Would recommend The Plough at Shutlanger to anyone looking for a lovely meal. ”

Having visited the Canal Museum we did a quick Google search for someone where good to eat nearby and the plough did not disappoint! Excellent food (Stokes condiments - you know the owners are foodies!), excellent service and lovely friendly atmosphere. It was also great value...
